Survey results reveal residents' opinions of Baltimore City police
A new survey on the perception of Baltimore police shows how far they've come, and how far they still have to go in gaining the trust of the community. This is the second survey conducted under the federal consent decree. It covers a period from the fall of 2021 to spring of 2023. Dr. Natasha Pratt-Harris, a professor at Morgan State University, led the survey. "One of the things I teach my students about is that what we see in our police departments is the same thing we see in our larger society," Pratt-Harris said.

Survey finds Baltimore officers feel restricted by consent decree
A new survey finds three out of four Baltimore police officers feel restricted by the consent decree for reform. What led to the consent decree were findings by the U.S. Department of Justice that for decades the Baltimore Police Department violated the constitution in its policing. The survey, which was done by a member of the City Council, is more evidence that change is hard.
